Webcams - this time we have a winner
Compared to the evil Linksys, I spent a little more for an Axis 207W, which is both dinky and works - really works. Plug into Ethernet, my Mac finds it on Bonjour, set the wifi key, unplug the cable, and it's there, serving up some nice html with actual MPEG/JPEGs too. And it has lovely concentric LEDs around the lens. The web interface is easy to use, and lets me do complex things or simple things. I like this one. Shows what you get when you spend an extra £100, though. Ouch.

Laura thanks for doing the research :-) I've been looking at getting such a camera for some time. What I really want is that when doorbell is rung it grabs an image and sound for x secs. I notice on Misco its £211.49 inc vat Did you find it cheaper elsewhere?
The axis came from whatever was cheapest and available immediately on froogle on the day - broadbandstuff.co.uk I think. £216 inc P&P, which is steep. But it's a dinky bit of kit, and as I say, unlike the Linksys, actually does what I want. It also has wired I/O (4 connections) if you want to trigger video capture, or send a signal when motion is detected. I'd love to post the webcam locations but they're both firewalled away at work I'm afraid...
